Bollywood stars, TV artistes, sufi music exponents and well-known classical dancers gathered at Baidyanath dham, Deoghar—the abode of lord Shiv—to perform in the first cultural show being organised there by the tourism department.

The three-day event— Baba Baidyanath Dham Mahotsav commenced from August 31. The programme promises to be a heady combination of sufi music, melodious bhajans and keertans, Shiv-leelas, famous Tandav dance and drummers’ show.

Host from Mumbai

Sufi music and dance exponents including Kailash Kher, Hansraj Hans and Shiv Mani have given their consent to perform at the festival.

TV artistes Aman Verma, Mona Singh and Rajeshwari Sachdeva have agreed to anchor the show. Dances performed by the troupes of Mamta Shankar, Hansraj Hans, Sudha Chandran and Meera Das.

held in an open air theatre..near by nanadan pahad! covering area of almost 1000 sq feet.it was equipped with all the prerequisites and modern stage show gadget!

special host had come from mumbai..for the inogration.The major expected guest were Mrs Hema malini,Kailash Kher,hans Raj Hans…and many more!!

Prisoners & Shringari Puja

Think about a place, where prisoners (kaidi) are advised/guided for worshipping of lord shiva.

Yes its Babadham and the Deoghar Karavas.

As there used to be a “Shringar Puja” at every evening in Baba Mandir. For this pooja, garlands/FOOLON KI MALAYEN used to pluged & prepared by Prisoners in Deoghar Jails within the campus.

Later few of constables, pick up them and enchanting Shiva (Har Har Mahadev) throughout the way from Karavas to Mandir, and later with the same puja will be done. This is not just one day work, or a work on special occasion, in fact a tradition which has been carrying since uncountable years.

Last week “The Telegraph” has mentioned it:

“Perhaps Babadham — as the temple town is popularly known — is the only place in the country where inmates languishing in jails prepare flower ornaments for the deity. The inmates prepare flower crown that is used during night Shringar, a special decoration of the Dwadash Jyotirlinga of Baidhyanath every late evening.“

There is an interesting story associated with this ritual, though. A British jailer started this tradition, said elderly residents of the temple town, after inmates suggested him to pray to the deity of Baidayanath for speedy recuperation of his ailing son.

The jailer, Christian by faith, did not turn down the advice. He reportedly prayed to the deity of Baidhyanath to save his son’s life.

The boy recovered within few days and an elated jailer started offering flower bouquets to the temple daily.

“It is a very old story but I doubt if there is any historical evidence or any references about the incident or the name of the British officer,” Falguni Marik Kushbaha, a local resident, said.

You are special?

A movie gets released; spectator admired the idea, audiences clapped for scenes, newspaper is full of its stills, magazines have special editorial on it, Ad market gets blowing with a snippet over that……………and so and so….

A movie is said to be trendsetter when it brings something new to its spectator and there onwards a subsequent movement on this new era. May be it was Sholey brought Daku in films, or QSQT a commencement of teenage love, or Satya kind of underworld theme. I don’t know how does a storywriter reach to such innovative topic, such producer agrees upon a risky task of investing money, and finally director prepare himself to shoot up for experimental shots.

Similar to this, last month I watched a movie “Tare Zameen Per”. Loved the movie. Liked what is said to be in Amol Gupte’s words, liked the way Aamir Khan angled his fingers across the camera and zoomed the lens around a kid actor fetches him the Filmfare’s best actor awards too.

I wonder for such Bollywood movie without a female substance, no outdoor shootings, small budgeted, non hyped actors (except the supporting actor Aamir itself) or just without an item song. But the movie had done well and made a miracle at present and of course said to be history in Bollywood cinema.

The movie is about a low performing boy@studies, how he struggles in life because of a kind of disease Dyslexia and finally turns with all good colors in his life. The one aspect of movie was to realize the parents that keep hoping from your children, encourage them to come forward, support them to achieve something rather neglecting or scolding them now and then.

At the same time movie has shown a great reality about the disease Dyslexia where a person is unable to judge the three important dimensions of physics: Size, Distance and Speed. Such a high and complex concept, Aamir khan tried to narrate it in a very simple way “Kitni badi ball, kitne door se, kitne speed se aa rahi hai—ye wo jaan nahi pata ha aur jab tak koshish karta hai gadi chchut jati hai”

The actor said that the disease may be because of some neurological disorder or it could be genetic also. “Aam aadmi ki juban me kahu to dimag me jara si wiring ki problem hai”.

This movie has also brought a global question, how much we are pressurizing our children and how badly we are forcing them to study.

Har kisi ko awwal number chaiye. Doctor, Engineers, management – isse kam to kisi ko bardasht hi nahi ha. 95.5%, 95.6%, 95.7%–isse kam to gali ke barabar hai.

Har ungli ko khich kar lambi karne me lege hai sub, lago raho..chahe ungli hi kyon na toot jaye.

And finally the movie shows that upon a good guideline, relevant attempt and truly dedicated support how nicely can we improve our children.

No doubt, TZP is a resultant of lots of scientific research, a reasonable psychology, a mental observation upon social issues. Definitely lot to learn and adopt in our lives.

Later I asked myself: Was the movie meant for kids?
Or
was it meant for PAPA age of people?
Or
both?

If so, then why did I like it? I don’t fall in either category!
I loved the movie because it gives you an excellent measured message
“Every child is special”.
&
Why don’t we elaborate it in a better way stating,

“Your child is also special…take care of them”.

Aaya Sawan Jhoom Ke

The usual timings for Baba darshan is 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM and again 6:00PM to 9:00PM. But in crowded day (like each SOMWARI (Monday) this could be quite early and delayed for late night)

To the first time comer to Deoghar, just want to convey a message, don’t worry come in a free mood. The mela is controlled by PRASHASHAN people ( Govtt. Employees ). Nothing to worry. Lots of hotel for accommodation ( varying to all rates may be 100/- to 700/- ), nothing to worry about food – as so many restaurants are here. Apart from the facility provided by Deoghar Govtt. there will be huge number of SANSKRITIK SANSTHA/SANGS/Political Parties which are gonna help you in 24×7 including the medication if require.

One advice to the parents of small kids, just keep a complete adress chit in their pockets, so that if they are lost in crowd, the concern authorities (Yes prashashan cares a lot for such events and are ready to make things perfect in your ways) can announce/handover the kid to you using the address slip in their pocket.

No problem of drinking water, whether will be bit rainy, almost no cold, bit sunny.

There are very less chances of misguiding from other people upon asking for few queries like where to stay, how to go to X place etc.. but still advice able to ask the traffic people, use sign boards across the roads.

Shivganga is the holy lake/pond for you bath and then go to temple for pooja.

Yes please do carry a torch light with you, although there will be electricity in 24×7 manner.

As a prasad you may take Chuda, Elaichidana, Peda, and mala(Baddhi).

Deoghar is famous for PEDA, Rasagullah. So can be enjoyed very well.

Samosa and few types of chats are could be an excellent spicy food here.

Finish the pooja and can go many places to visit in deoghar or nearby deoghar like Nanadan pahar, Satsang, Tapovan, Trikut Pahad etc.

Railway station/ Bus stand is quite nearby ( 10-15 mins walkable from Mandir).

Autos(Tampoo)/Jeeps/Rickshaws/Tanga(horse)/State Bus/Private Bus etc for transportation.
